Elmbridge Village - Elmbridge Village Open Day
An Open Day is being staged at Elmbridge Village to give local people and those who want to find out more about the lifestyle on offer the opportunity to take a look. Elmbridge Village, on the outskirts of Cranleigh in Surrey was the first age exclusive community to be built in the UK almost 30 years ago. A number of the pioneering first residents still live at the village. Visitors will be welcomed to enjoy a tour of the village, speak to residents and view available homes between 2pm and 4pm on Wednesday, 8th September. Staff will be on hand to conduct tours and answer questions about the lifestyle options. The village comprises 236 bungalows and apartments set in 28 acres of grounds which include allotments, mature trees and outdoor games areas. Communal facilities including a village hall complete with stage, restaurant, bar, smoker room and library. There is an active social life on offer including regular film nights, a Choir, painting classes and exercise groups. There are a handful of one and two bedroom homes available at the village with prices ranging from £140,000 for a one bedroom apartment to £300,000 for a two bedroom bungalow. Los Endos capture the excitement of a live '70s Genesis concert. Featuring music from the band's early heyday with vocalist Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett and backed by a great sound and light show, this is a must see for Genesis fans. Cranleigh Dance & Theatre Arts - "Over The Rainbow" a Musical Theatre Workshop
The full day workshop will feature songs and music from Wicked, The Wiz and The Wizard of Oz. If you love to sing, dance and act and are between 8 and 18, come and join us. You will work hard, have fun and learn a lot. The workshop will be led by Nicky Griffiths from the West End cast of Mamma Mia. Nicky also teaches Musical Theatre workshops at Pineapple in London and has led 2 very successful workshops here in Cranleigh. She has performed around the world, toured the UK in Grease and been part of the original London casts of hit shows Wicked and Hairspray. Home Brew: Open Mic We provide the stage. You provide the talent! Home Brew Open Mic night will be a great event that's also an opportunity for local performers. Home Brew will be hosted by local singer/songwriter Richard Poll and is set to become a regular feature that welcomes both beginners and professional acts with the opportunity to showcase their talents.
