Cranleigh Vallendar Friendship Club

Age RestrictionsUnrestricted
Size of Membership40-50
ObjectivesThe Club exists as a "Twinning" organisation through which strong links have been established with the people of Vallendar, a village of similar size to Cranleigh on the banks of the Rhine near Coblenz, Germany. The Club was formed in 1982 and received its Charter in 1985 at a formal signing ceremony. Regular visits are made both to Vallendar by the Cranleigh members and to Cranleigh by our German friends from Vallendar. Both halves of the Club organise many different social activities during the year and there is a frequent exchange of information between the two villages. Past events in Cranleigh have included theatre trips, dances, dinners and visits to places of interest both in the UK and in mainland Europe. New members are always welcome and there is no need to be able to speak German - to do so obviously helps but it is definitely not a pre-requisite. The Club organises trips to Vallendar in even years and is visited by the Vallendar members in odd years.
Regular MeetingsAbout eight times a year
